Recce run

An energising and exhausting week all in one. Long days, travelling from one location to another and meeting a variety of characters with a suite of stories, each as deserving of the utmost attention as the other. With a special interest in the enviromnent and wildlife, assisting crew working on a documentary on saltwater crocodiles and cane toads is a perfect fit. It also helps when the people you work with are interesting, engaging and just plain lovely. The days were exceptionally busy, but it was fun being able to introduce the UK crew to so many wonderful people - from rangers to doctors, from croc farmers to former poachers - and for them to hear firsthand all the fascinating stories that surround the most revered and feared animal in the Top End. Oh, and by the way - that's Smaug. He lives in the backyard of a researcher in Darwin's rural area. He likes chickens.
